Social security fund in Tansania....

For the first time since January of this year, employers and employees throughout Tanzania pay into the National Social Insurance Fund.

Employees have to pay 10 percent of their salary, and we as employers have to pay 10 percent.

A lot of excitement and astonishment among the Massai: "But if I buy a goat I have a whole herd after a few years... why should I put the money somewhere else?

Comprehensible arguments from the point of view of a Massai. 

Every beginning of a new system is challenging... it should include health insurance, disability insurance, pension and maternity benefits.

All this has so far been absorbed by the family clan...

A team of 5 people from the NSSF was invited for reconnaissance purposes...an exciting experience... two worlds meet.
