And we continue with medical treatment ….

12.December 2020

After the handover of the Health Center, one could assume that Africa Amini has now been laid off from its medical responsibility...

For surgeries, emergencies and childbirths, this is indeed the case. Over the past few months, an average of 30 children were born per month in the State-Health-Center. We support these mothers with urgently needed birth-kits, which they otherwise would have to buy themselves.

Yet where does our medical mission lie now? I believe it lies in the care of our school children and in the Natural Healing Center, which remains in private hands. After receiving so many requests from patients, I decided to carry on with the Natural-Healing-Center.

Twice a week I treat patients and, if necessary, send them to the Health-Center for laboratory and x-ray examinations. The infrastructure is still a bit improvised, because the restaurant was assigned to the state buildings, but is not yet in operation. So we organize that Neema prepares lunch for our staff and the patients in the library.

Our educational mission also continues. On the days I see patients, there is an introduction to medical topics around preventive medicine issues at 8am.

Here is a little insight of yesterday’s working day. Once again our team was working until late in the evening to ensure that all 43 patients could travel home well taken care of. Karatu, Same, Dodoma, Dar es Salam... many of them have a long way to come and go home.

This setting is most likely only an interim solution. But it allows us to continue to serve the patients seeking help. This time with a focus on naturopathy, but not without a conventional medical check-up in cooperation with the Health-Center.
