WOMENS HEALTH

Cervical and breast cancer screening to reduce female mortality. Birth packages and screening for pregnant women to ensure safe delivery. Education on birth control and treatment to reduce early pregnancies. Medical education in schools on women's health for girls, but also for boys, to promote mutual respect and understanding. Hygienic assistance with special sanitary pads and caps to make girls' school life easier.

In Tanzania, women can go to any hospital to give birth free of charge. Apparently free, because they are only admitted if they buy and bring all the materials they need for the birth themselves. This financial and emotional barrier is the reason why the poorest women from Maasai land do not seek the safe environment of a hospital to give birth to their child. Maternal and infant mortality rates are therefore still very high in these remote areas.

Africa Amini Alama launched an initiative to counteract this. Every woman who visits our clinic in the 34th week of pregnancy receives a free BIRTH KIT with all the necessary materials: gloves, umbilical cord clamp, bandages, swabs and suture material. In addition, we check blood pressure, the most important laboratory values and the progress of the child with the help of an ultrasound. The woman is helped in two ways: High-risk pregnancies can be detected thanks to screening and nothing stands in the way of delivery in a nearby hospital.

With a donation of €25, we can make another birth package possible.
